Afghan attack: Babies killed as gunmen storm maternity ward

wo babies and 11 mothers and nurses have been killed in a militant attack on a hospital in the Afghan capital.
Another 15 people, including a number of children, were injured when several gunmen attacked the Kabul hospital on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Part of the hospital is run by the international medical charity, Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF), and some of those working there are foreigners.
Meanwhile, in the east, an attack at a police funeral has killed at least 24.
Dozens more were injured in that bomb blast and casualty numbers in both attacks could rise. It is not clear who carried out either attack.

'Total panic'

In Kabul, locals heard two blasts, then gunfire. One doctor who fled during the assault, which began at about 10:00 local time (05:30 GMT), told the BBC about 140 people were in the hospital when the gunmen began their attack. Another doctor described to news agency AFP how "total panic" took hold as the attack unfolded.
"The attackers were shooting at anyone in this hospital without any reason," vendor Ramazan Ali, who saw the attack begin, told news agency Reuters. "It's a government hospital, and a lot of people bring in their women and children for treatment."
Afghan special forces rescued 100 women and children, including three foreigners, an official told the BBC.
The attackers, who Reuters reported had gained access dressed as police officers, were all killed by security personnel after a battle lasting hours.

Punjab Assembly deputy speaker tests positive for coronavirus

LAHORE - Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Mazari tested positive for corona-virus as total cases surged to 29,465 in Pakistan.  Mazari said that he took test from a private laboratory and it came back negative but the result of public lab showed him corona-virus positive.  "Apparently I had developed no symptoms," he said, adding that he will take another test after few days. Mazari has self-isolated himself. The number of corona-virus cases in Pakistan rose to a total of 29,465 on Sunday, according to government data. The death toll related to COVID-19 has reached 639, according to the National Command and Control Center, while at least 8,023 patients have fully recovered. Honda increases car prices again

KARACHI - Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited has increased the prices of all of its variants by up to Rs 120,000 with effective from the 5th of May 2020, according to a letter sent to all its dealers on May 4. As per the letter, the price of Honda City has been increased by up to Rs 70,000, BR-V's by up to Rs 100,000 whereas the price of Civic has been revised upward by up to Rs 120,000. The new prices are applicable on all bookings received from 23rd April & onwards. The letter further reads that any hike in foreign index may lead to another increase in price.
