Ex-MPA Haji Allah Yar Ansari dies of coronavirus in Punjab

LAHORE – A former Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Punjab’s Sargodha district has died of coronavirus. 
Haji Allah Yar Ansari, 78, remained in quarantine at home but was later shifted to the hospital when his condition deteriorated, the DAWN reported on Saturday. 
Born on May 1, 1943 in Khushab District, Allah Yar did his Intermediate in 1962 from the Government College Joharabad. He was elected to the Punjab Assembly on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ticket in 1997.
His relatives and friends flouted rules as they did not allow the special team to proceed with the burial.
His family and close contacts will also be tested for COVID-19 infection.
The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan rose to a total of 18,272 on Saturday, with at least 417 fatalities across the South Asian country.

NCC meeting will decide future of lockdown this week

ISLAMABAD - Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Asad Umar on Sunday said the National Coordination Committee on Corona-virus would decide about the future course of lock-down after analysis and observations to be presented by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). The meeting would be held this week with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair, to decide the post-May, 9 scenarios in the country. CM Punjab opts to help artists facing financial crisis due to coronavirus lockdown

LAHORE - The Punjab government on Tuesday (yesterday) has decided to help artists facing a financial crisis due to corona-virus lock-down in the country. According to details, Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar said that Punjab government will financially assist 3,000 artists. Will provide Rs15,000 to Rs20,000 to the artists for their help, he added.
